"My career path began at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN where I received a B.S. in civil engineering. After that I moved to the west coast where I was valedictorian of my 2006 graduating class at Pacific University College of Optometry. I enjoy an active lifestyle including running, weight lifting, and walking my miniature dachshund, Barkley."
"I have traveled with volunteer medical teams to the countries of Ecuador and Moldova to provide eye care for children. Those experiences helped me realize the importance of routine eye exams for children. Vision is closely linked to the learning process and children are often unable to communicate problems with their vision. This can lead to poor academic and athletic performance. When problems are detected early in life they can often be treated and contribute significantly to the child’s success in school."

Dr. Elizabeth Nixon is a board certified Optometrist who was Valedictorian for her 2006 graduating class from Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Nixon completed a six month externship at the prestigious Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. Prior to Optometry school, she received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Dr. Nixon produced a DVD showing the procedures of ophthalmoscopy and biomicroscopy to aid optometry students.
She has also traveled with volunteer medical teams to the countries of Ecuador and Moldova to provide eye care.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association.
